Good Citizens

The Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme
Established in 1992, The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme is the largest dog training programme in the UK. The scheme is open to all dogs, young or old, pedigree or crossbreed. Dogs do not need to be registered with The Kennel Club to take part. The scheme promotes responsible dog ownership by teaching owners to train their dog for everyday life situations. There are four award levels: Puppy Foundation, Bronze, Silver and Gold.

All Cesky Terriers should be able to tackle the Puppy Foundation and Bronze tests, and with a litle bit more training the Silver should be wihin reach of most. The Gold is more difficult - for dogs and handlers - but several Cesky Terriers have attained that standard too.

You can see some of our Good Citizen dogs here. If your Cesky Terrier has passed any of these tests please send us a photograph!

Jonesy has Bronze, Silver and Gold Good Citizens awards, and also competes successfully in Agility and Obedience.

Those that have reached at least Bronze level, and have won a Good Citizen class at a conformation show have the opportunity to qualify for the KC Good Citizen Supermatch each year - proving they have brains and beauty!
